Let's watch what this would have looked like with Plan B:

Most early attempts at Plan B won't be that smooth for sure, but we wanted to show you what easy living with Plan B looks like first! As you saw, Plan B consists of 2 people, both with concerns on the table, trying to work together towards a solution that works for both of them and is realistic. You saw all three ingredients to Plan B represented: Empathy / Understanding, Defining the Problem, and the Invitation / Brainstorming step. You then saw father and son assessing the potential solution to determine if it was realistic and mutually satisfactory. Keep in mind that one reason this conversation seemed so calm was timing: it didn't happen at teeth-brushing time! Proactive Plan B is always a better choice than Emergency Plan B for predictable problems like this. While teethbrushing may not seem like an especially big problem to some of you, the process looks the same with much more challenging problems. Of course, the tougher the problem the more stabs at Plan B may be required before the problem gets solved.
