About Me:
  • My journey with CPS began in 2008 when my child was diagnosed with a Developmental Disability Disorder. Then in 2009 he received a co-occurring Mental Health diagnosis. Between 2008 and 2011 he was in an out of crisis placements, approximately every 6 months. Through 2008 everything that I had be taught growing up, and from my employment in a Developmental Disability care facility since 1996 was not working. In 2009 my wife and took our first CPS parent training. From 2009 to 2011 I took 6 CPS parent training in total. It was by teaching the thinking skills he needed, and continual use of CPS that my child was able to leave his last crisis placement in early 2011. Since then, we have continued to use CPS with him and our other children. In 2017 the State of Oregon program that I work for decide to use CPS as our main model, leading me to become Certified in CPS for our crisis program.
