About Me:
  • Tamar Shames is a Certified Trainer in Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) with over 15 years of experience in education and supporting neurodiverse learners. Since becoming Certified in 2017, she has led numerous CPS trainings for educators, mental health professionals, and school teams, helping them apply the model to improve communication, build relationships, and reduce challenging behaviors. Tamar also leads CPS classes for parents, helping families bring the philosophy of “people do well if they can” into their homes. As both a professional and a parent, she has seen firsthand the transformative power of CPS in fostering connection, empathy, and problem-solving with children. Tamar currently serves as the Director of Professional Development for REACH Chicago, where she partners with Jewish day schools to strengthen their capacity to meet the needs of struggling students.
